Dynamically drive a joint chain with Hair in Maya
In this Maya 3d modeling and 3d animation class you will learn how to drive a joint chain dynamically using spline IK and dynamic hair curve.You will how create a curve like hair, tail and anten and their dynamic motion like in reality. You would have notice that due to inertia when head is moved forward the motion of the hair is not the same as one unit, similarly like small growing anten or tree the motion due to air is like vertical wave due to force some part of hair start moving in same direction soon and some try to retain their position. In Maya you can achieve such type of dynamic hair curve by attaching different joints to the curve.

Keep following points in mind:
- Create a curve joint chain of four or five joints using joint tool.
- Now press key ‘V’ and click on each joint to attach the joints to the curve after grabbing the EP curve tool from the curve tab.
- Open dynamic attributes from the menu set and in the hair tab click on make hair dynamic tool.
- In the hypergraph window your joint chain, curve along will dynamic hair system and output curve 2 will appear.
- Then select to polygon object from the shelf tab and then shift select from base to the tip and in the skin tab click on bind smooth skin and that is it.
