There are many 3d computer graphics software applications which are used for 3d modeling and 3d animation in designing and pre-visualization etc. these 3d modeling animation software applications include Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3d Max, AutoCAD and Adobe flash CS and so on. All these software and many others are computer graphics software or digital graphics software applications.
In this free tutorial video you will learn how to create 3d animation in 3d modeling and animation software application Maya 2011. This lesson covers the basics of the 3d animation in Maya moreover this you will also learn how to create 3d animation of an object along a path you created in 3d modeling and animation software Maya 2011.

    3d Animation Steps:

  1. Create a simple polygon cube from the polygon primitives in the create menu or hit cube icon from the shelf tab. Using scale tool scale it to a suitable size. And move it to any of the end of grid using move tool press ‘W’ from key board for move tool.
  2. Under the work space there is time line or time slider. You object at the initial position, move the time slider to frame one and press ‘s’ key to the set key at this frame or in the animation menu set go to the Animation menu and click on set key option.
  3. After this move the time slider first at the last frame of animation and then using move tool move your object to the final position where you want to see it at the last of 3d animation and press and ‘S’ key to set key at this frame.
  4. Click on play back button you will see your cube’s 3d animation that it move from first position to the final position when you play the animation.
  5. Motion path animation:

  6. Create a polygon sphere and then create a polygon circle as a path on which you sphere will move in 3d animation.
  7. Using scale tool scale you sphere and the circle to suitable size.
  8. First you select the sphere and then shift select the circle. Then in the animation menu set, go to the animation menu and click on motion path and click on attach to motion path, an option box will pop out. This box actually you ask you from which frame you want to start moving you object along the path and up to which frame the animation ends. So put values for example 10 for starting frame and 72 for last frame of 3d animation along the path click on apply after the settings.
  9. Now play back your animation and you will see the cube moving back and forth on its position and the sphere moving on the circular path.
