Maya Modeling BasicsToy pt. 4This 3d modeling lesson is for the 3d software learners who will learn here how to model the beak, comb and wattle of the chicken bird toy 3d model in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya. In this 3d modeling lesson you will also learn how to model the wings of the chicken 3d model using NURBS 3d modeling tools. This is one of the most important 3d lessons of the series and interesting as well. Here on this website of 3d modeling and animation learning you will learn all about 3d software skills in 3d modeling and animation software Autodesk Maya, 3d studio max and AutoCAD architectural designing in 3d computer graphics. Here in this 3d modeling and animation lesson you will learn how NURBS 3d modeling is done, the term NURBS (non-uniform rational basic spline) means that the surface with irregular and non uniform rational values of their geometry, these are curved surfaces but having rational value of theirs. In this 3d lesson we are using NURBS sphere to make 3d model more comprehensive in 3d modeling and animation software Maya.

    Steps:

  1. For modeling wing of 3d chicken model you create NURBS sphere and then press ‘E’ for rotate tool and rotate it on y-axis at 90 degree, then press ‘R’ for scale tool and move it to the place of wing and then scale it to proper wing size and then right click and choose vertex mode and move the vertex to set on the body like wings.
  2. Modeling other wing, go to edit menu click on free transform setting and then again click on the same command for reset transformation and then click on duplicate special for duplicating the wing.
  3. Then create another NURBS sphere and then scale it down and then place it to comb area move its vertex to fit the size of comb of chicken, then create another NURBS sphere for modeling wattle of the chicken model.
  4. Once you have done this go to Hypergraph Hierarchy and rename all the nodes as per their part names and then selecting them all drag on chicken model node.
  5. This will make all parts a group.
  6. For details of 3d modeling watch this 3d modeling lesson.
